Urban trips in Chicago as a complex network
This is an illustration of urban trips in Chicago as a complex network, regardless of the road network. Each link represents a trip from an origin to destination. The plotted network includes more than 78,000 trips (or links).
The data is from the 2007 Chicago Household Travel Survey which includes daily travel diaries of more than 14,000 households in Chicago. It includes unique IDs for each household and person, travel modes, departure times, etc. So we can track each person and connect his/her trips to build tours. More interesting analysis results will be posted soon.
